Voluny is a search and recruiting app for volunteering opportunities in your area. The target audience is people of all ages who are looking to help out the community, as well as the organizations who are looking for volunteers. Voluny serves as a search tool for everyone to look and join all types of volunteering works available near their area. Non-profit organizations who join as recruiters, can manage, find and post new experiences. Once a volunteer applies to an organisation, the recruiter can either accept or decline the application. Volunteers can also submit reviews of their experiences. The app was designed and developed completely from scratch.

Location Selection

Search for a location manually or let the app determine your location

We use Google Places API to get auto completion results of the cities in the world as the user starts typing the city and this API returns a list of Google Place ID numbers. To parse those identification numbers and get the real city names, we use Google's reverse geocoding API, which returns information about the place in a JSON format. Then we use Alamofire to parse the JSON result and finally return the city name and the country's short code in a format like San Francisco, USA.

You can see a list of your applications including their statuses. You can cancel any application you made in the past by tapping on the three white dots on the top right of your application

Provide recruiters feedback

After completing an experience, you can submit your review. Pick a rating from zero to five and write your feedback

RECRUITERS

View your listings and post new ones

Browse your current and past listings or post a new experience

The home screen for recruiters shows two groups of listings. The experiences which are active shows the number of applied people and allows the recruiter to manage the applicants by selecting it. At the bottom, the recruiter can get a horizontally scrollable list of all the inactive experiences from the past. When a recruiter would like to submit a new experience, a form needs to be filled out with details such as name, category, age group and so on. In addition, the recruiter is also encouraged to submit a display and banner photo.

Manage your applicants and edit your experience

Get a list of your applicants and manage them by either accepting or declining them

The app provides 3 different groups of applicants based on their application status. Pending applicants are those whom the recruiter hasn't made a decision for. Accepted and declined applicants are also shown, but their status can be changed anytime. By selecting one of the three groups, the app gives a list of applicants based on the selected status filter. The recruiter can select a volunteer from the list and view his or her application and make actions regarding the applicant such as accepting or declining.

Never miss a notification

Volunteer's notifications

Volunteers receive updates regarding their applications as soon as the recruiters make a decision. Volunteers can view the status of their applications in the My Voluny tab

Recruiters receive notifications instantly after a volunteer submitted an application to one of their listings. The recruiter can tap on an application to get more details

iMovies

iMovies lets you discover new movies and TV shows. Users can search for any movie and get detailed information about the film such as rating, cast and reviews. Users can also enjoy watching trailers of their favorite movies. Movies can be shared via iMessage, Facebook and other social networks. Users can also mark movies as favorites and see the list of movies they have viewed in the past.
